International Roundup of Fantasy Premiership Players
Published by Sunil Rathour on September 10, 2009
England’s win over Serbia yesterday looked good for a number of Fantasy Premiership players. Aaron Lennon continued his devastating club form, and won a penalty, and setup the first goal for England. His pace unsettled the Serbian defense who could only bring him to ground, whenever he ran at them. His final ball into the area has certainly improved, with Steven Gerrard reaping the rewards of this - for the second England goal.
Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard both scored two goals each which confirms their high price in the fantasy game. Wayne Rooney was also a consistent threat, and also netted one of the goals. Another in form player, who had a good game for England, was the right back Glen Johnson. He had one assist in the game and looked a constant threat on the wing.
Arsenal captain, Cesc Fabregas marked his return from injury with a goal for Spain against Estonia. His 33rd minute strike was the only goal until the last 10 minutes, when Spain killed it off by scoring another two.
Denmark was held to a disappointing draw against Albania in Tirana. Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner gave the Danes the lead five minutes before half-time but Albania fought back and leveled the scores in the 50th minute.
Another Arsenal player who looks in good form is Andrey Arshavin. He setup the first goal for Russia which resulted in a 3-1 win over Wales.
Chelsea player and German captain, Michael Ballack was also on target, as he scored Germany’s first goal, from the penalty spot, against a hapless Azerbaijan. The Germans ended up winning that game 4-0, and although he scored from the penalty area, it should have provided him with confidence moving forward.
