International break injuries for Fantasy Premiership Players

A number of players picked up injuries over the last week ? playing for their home countries. This may affect your lineup over the coming game weeks. The players are:

1) The Republic of Irelands manager, Geovanni Trapattoni sent John O?Shea home after Saturday?s win over Cyprus, with some bleeding and serious bruising around his calf. It seems he has a calf muscle strain with no chance of him playing this coming weekend for Manchester United. Right now they are conducting tests in Manchester to determine the recuperation period; he has to endure to get back to full fitness.

2) Carlos Tevez picked a knee injury while on international duty with Argentina. He will definitely not being able to play this weekend against Arsenal. Mark Hughes said, ?our doctor has spoken to the Argentine medical people and the feeling is that he is out for the weekend so he will not play against Arsenal.” There apparently is hope that he will be available to play against Manchester United next weekend.

3) Robinho, who faced Tevez in Brazil’s 3-1 win over Argentina on Saturday, also has a slight knock. He seems to have aggravated an old injury from last year, which is just above his ankle. The Manchester City medical staff, are working full-time to get him fit for the game against Arsenal this weekend. There is a slight chance he will play tomorrow.

4) Andrey Arshavin will miss his clubs next league match against Manchester City and the Champions league match against Standard Liege, because of a groin injury. It was an injury he aggrevated while he was playing for Russia. He initially picked it up, when playing against Manchester United recently.

5) Jonan Elmander is Boltons record signing, who picked up an injury, while away on international duty with Sweden. The Swedish striker has returned from World Cup action with a calf injury that seems sure to rule him out of the clash between the Premier League’s two pointless outfits ? Bolton and Portsmouth. It looks like Gary Megson may have to play his new signing ? Ivan Klasnic, if he carries on playing with his usual formation for Bolton. This may present Fantasy Managers, a choice of a reasonably priced striker, who is almost certain to play.
