Chelsea relinquished their top of the league position to Manchester United after losing 2-1 to Aston Villa away from home. Liverpool’s 1-0 loss to Sunderland at the Stadium of Light, was not as surprising as anticipated. With Gerard and Torres missing, due to injury, the reds where outplayed by a very good Sunderland team, with one of the in-form strikers of the season. Since Darren Bents long awaited transfer to Sunderland, he was very much a fringe player at Tottenham, despite being their top scorer last season. He was not a favorite amongst the many managers that took charge at Spurs, but now seems to be flourishing under Steve Bruce at Sunderland. With 67 points so far this season, he has 8 goals, 3 assists and 8 bonus points. With Birmingham and West Ham next on their fixture list, it may be a good time to purchase this player.
